Violette S. Robinson
founding director, owner, choreographer

A lifelong dancer and performer, Violette founded Fire and Light Performing Arts in 2014, after teaching herself fire fans and prop manipulation and building collaborations with other talented performers. Violette has since shifted from a “flow art”-specific company into a full-service live talent entertainment and creative concept development. She was a 2018 grantee of the IngenuityLabs incubator program. She presented her first choreographed works, “X=X” and “Electric Bird” at IngenuityFest 2018, which were collaborations between dancers and flow artists who bridged their respective disciplines. Violette holds a Master of Arts in French and a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and environmental studies from Case Western Reserve University where she also studied modern dance. Violette has seven years’ experience in marketing, communications, research and administration at CWRU, and she serves as an arts programming coordinator with Ingenuity Cleveland, an English as a Second Language teacher with VIPKID, and as a special project and film operations assistant for the Cleveland International Film Festival.
